MVME162-220 is the dual-height enhanced flagship variant of the MVME162 series, distinct from single-height MVME162-10/012/13/512A. It adopts double-height 6U VME mechanical design with larger PCB area for richer memory and peripheral expansion. Equipped with MC68040 25MHz CPU with built-in FPU floating-point unit, supporting complex industrial algorithm floating-point calculation. Standard configuration supports 1/4/8MB parity-protected DRAM, fixed onboard 512KB battery-backed high-speed SRAM, 1MB firmware Flash, integrated Intel 82596CA 10/100Mbps Ethernet, NCR53C710 narrow SCSI storage controller, dual configurable RS232/422 serial ports, MK48T08 8KB NVRAM & TOD real-time clock, multi-level hardware watchdog timer, 8-channel front panel status LEDs and manual RESET/ABORT buttons. No IndustryPack IP expansion slots (differentiated from single-height models), reserved extra PCB area for stable memory operation, widely deployed as main operator station computing motherboard for legacy Honeywell TDC3000 DCS due to stronger floating-point arithmetic and complete network/storage native interfaces.
